College Education Centre official opening

File documents preparations for the official opening ceremony of the College Education Centre. File contains invitations, event programs, speeches, correspondence, memoranda, guest lists, and media clippings.

College Education Centre planning and administration

Sub-series documents planning, construction, and administration of the College Education Centre (CEC), the multi-college campus facility that originally housed four North Bay colleges. Sub-series contains correspondence, reports, minutes, and other records of the Campus Planning Committee, Campus Co-ordinating Committee, and the College Education Centre Users' Committee, joint committees which were made up of representatives from each college and which were responsible for the planning and administration of shared facilities and services at the CEC.

Series documents Zytaruk's activities as a college/university administrator. The majority of files in the series date from his term as Principal/President of Nipissing College (1967-1983). Other files relate to his subsequent activities as a faculty member, mostly in Nipissing's Humanities Division and Laurentian University's Department of English. Series is arranged into four sub-series.

File consists of presentations, reports, and briefs made to the Commission on Post-Secondary Education by J. W. Trusler, Chairman of the Nipissing College Board of Governors, and George Zytaruk, President of the college. The file also contains the Commission's report, "Post-secondary education in North Bay and Sault Ste. Marie."

Convocation and admissions ceremonies programs

File contains programs for Nipissing College's admissions ceremony in 1969 (with an explanatory note by JoAnn Zytaruk) and the first convocation/the dedication of Norman Weaver Auditorium in 1973.
