Cardigan

Item is a burgundy men's cardigan worn by Bill Allen during his year as a student at the North Bay Teachers' College. The cardigan is possibly made of acrylic and it has pockets, buttons, and two tags at the back of the neck reading, "Harv-Al / Sportswear Ltd. / Athletic Outfitters / 87 Isabel St. Winnipeg 2. Man" and "Do not dry clean." The cardigan also features two stripes in yellow on the left arm, and patches in white, black, pale and dark yellow. The patch on the left breast is the letter T with a C superimposed (possibly the initials for 'teachers' college'), and on the right arm is the number 62.

Item is an email from Bill Allen to Charlotte Innerd (Associate Director of the Education Centre Library) that explains the cardigan Allen donated (Item 0013-01) and the dress code at North Bay Teachers' College in 1961-1962.

North Bay Teachers' College wooden box

Item is a hand-carved hardwood box featuring the crest of North Bay Teachers' College in relief on the lid. The lid and corners of the box also feature fine carvings of maple leaves in relief. The box is hinged, has a smooth matte finish, and its interior is divided into two compartments. The box appears to be held together with glue, except for the brass hinges which are affixed with finishing nails.

The crest on the lid features the provincial shield of Ontario surmounted by a burning oil lamp with the college's motto "Docendo Discimus" ("By teaching, we learn") underneath. The shield is enclosed by a scroll reading "North Bay Teachers College."
