Collection consists of pamphlets, articles, reports, and ephemera relating to North Bay and northeastern Ontario that were collected by the Education Centre Library for its vertical file (a collection of documents maintained by a library to provide easy access to information about frequently-requested topics; vertical files were especially popular before the rise of the Internet). The collection was created from the early 1970s, when the Library was founded, until the dissolution of the vertical file in the late 2000s.
