Recorded information includes: registration number, date of registration, name, birth place, date of birth, age, post office address, religious denomination, non-professional qualifications, where obtained, last place of teaching, and length of teaching experience. The register also contains a printed lists of students by academic year, loose or pasted into the margins of the register.

Publications include: academic calendars, yearbooks, reports, magazines, newsletters, student guides and handbooks, and faculty profiles. File contains monthly reports of bird observations (1941-1961), and tables containing annual statistics of observations arranged by species (1941-1967). Each monthly report contains a summary of the month's weather (with comments about temperature, wind, and precipitation) and a table containing the total number of each species observed by Gould. Monthly reports often include additional special notes describing unusual sightings (with comments about nesting, plumage, calls, size, and behaviour) and observations made outside of Gould's usual birding area around North Bay under the subheading "Observations elsewhere." Special notes occasionally describe sightings of mammals as well.

Collection is made of 86 images from the Forest Resources Inventory (FRI) series, created by the Ministry of Natural Resources. The dates of the images range from 1946-1970. These images are of the North Bay area.

For certain years or flight lines, only every second image is present, which provides complete ground coverage but does not allow for stereo viewing.
