Logging record book

Item is a book recording the daily number of logs cut, skidded, and hauled for Graves, Bigwood and Company at a shanty, or winter lumber camp, near Whitestone. The shanty is recorded as having been specifically situated on "Lot 15, Con[cession] 7. Hagerman," with the logs being hauled out on Steidler Creek and Whitestone Lake. It appears that each shanty was required to maintain and present such a record book to inspecting woodrangers from the Woods and Forests Branch of the Ontario Department of Lands and Mines. The book contains an affidavit by clerk Cha[rle]s Ramsay attesting to it being a true record of work done.
