Fonds reflects the functions and activities of the President's Office of Nipissing University. The fonds contains seven subseries: academic affairs, campus facilities administration, establishment of Nipissing College and Northeastern University, faculty and staff, government relations, special projects, and university charter application.

Nipissing University. President's Office

[Foundational documents of Northeastern University and] Nip[issing] College

Item is a bound volume containing documents related to the establishment of Northeastern University and Nipissing College including: the charter, letters patent, supplementary letters patent (changing the name of Northeastern University to Nipissing College in 1967), by-laws, director's register, minutes of meetings of the membership and meetings of the directors of Northeastern University and Nipissing College. File also contains a copy of a legislative bill entitled "An act respecting Northeastern University of Ontario.'"

Subseries documents the appointment, promotion, and tenure of faculty members, as well as the administration of professional development funds, travel assistance, and sabbaticals. Files are arranged by last name of faculty member and contain: correspondence; curricula vitae; academic transcripts; sabbatical applications and reports; applications for professional development funds and travel assistance; faculty reports, evaluation forms, grant applications and project proposals; teaching appointment forms and contracts; assessment reports relating to promotion; and awards nominations.

Nipissing College corporate desk seal

Item is a corporate desk seal consisting of a seal press with two dies and used for embossing documents with the corporate seal. The seal press is made of cast iron painted black, and bears a brass plate reading : Nipissing College - Ontario corporation. One die is made of brass (marked : Sold by Newsome & Gilbert Limited), the other of lead (?).

Government relations

Series documents Nipissing University's reporting to and interaction with Ontario government bodies responsible for education, primarily the Ontario Council on University Affairs (OCUA) as well as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Colleges and Education, and special committees, commissions, and panels including: the Committee on University Education in Northeastern Ontario (also known as the Parrott Committee); the Committee on the Future Development of the Universities of Ontario; the Advisory Panel on Future Directions for Post Secondary Education; and the Commission on Post-Secondary Education in Ontario.

Series contains one subseries consisting of annual reports submitted to the Ontario Council on University Affairs.

File contains correspondence, memoranda, news releases, and statements about the integration of North Bay Teachers' College with Nipissing College. File also contains a double-page spread (likely from a magazine) of the North Bay Teachers' College building at 168 First Avenue.

College Education Centre - Student residence

File documents the design and administration of the student residence at the College Education Centre. File contains surveys, reports, correspondence, statistics, maps, brochures and information packages for conferences or workshops, booking schedules, lists of residence occupants, fee schedules,minutes, floor plans, budgets, and an indenture.
