Administrative history

The Nipissing Drug Store was a pharmacy located in North Bay, Ontario. Arthur Cecil Rorabeck opened the Nipissing Drug Store in 1895 on Main Street in North Bay. Following Rorabeck's death in 1932, the business was bought by Reg Harris in 1933 and renamed the Harris Drug Store.

Custodial history

Records were donated to Nipissing University's Institute for Community Studies and Oral History (ICSOH) in 2004 by Roy Harris (ICSOH accession 2004/2) and the North Bay Area Museum (ICSOH accession 2004/3). Francoise Noel transferred the records to the archives on behalf of the ICSOH in 2014.

Scope and content

Fonds documents the Nipissing Drug Store's filling of pharmaceutical prescriptions for customers. Fonds consists of prescription ledgers and one framed analytical chemistry certificate.
